Privacy Policy

Who we are
Natural Emergence is the trading name of Beijing Parsing Information Technology Center (Sole Proprietorship), an independent software studio registered in Beijing, China. We design and sell macOS productivity software, distributed worldwide.
Our privacy philosophy
We build software the way we'd want it built for ourselves: local-first, minimal data collection, no tracking, no ads, no profiling. By default, our software runs on your device and your data stays with you. We collect only what we genuinely need to deliver and support what you paid for.
What we collect on this website
- Server logs: Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) records standard request logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — used solely for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analytics. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
- Cookies / local storage: This site does not set any first-party tracking cookies and does not embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
- Contact form / email: If you email us, we store your message and email address only for as long as needed to respond and maintain a support history (typically 24 months), then delete it.
What our software collects
Each product publishes its own detailed privacy policy describing exactly what data is processed and where:
- Pawscribe — Privacy Policy
In general, our macOS apps process audio, transcripts, and notes entirely on your Mac by default. Cloud features (such as higher-accuracy transcription or AI summarization) are opt-in and require you to supply your own API credentials for third-party services (AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.). When enabled, data is sent directly from your Mac to that service — never through our servers.
Purchases and license management
When you buy a license, the following happens:
- Checkout is processed by our Merchant of Record (Paddle.com Market Limited and affiliates). Paddle collects payment information, billing address, and tax data per its own Privacy Policy. We never see your full card number.
- After payment, Paddle sends us your email address, order ID, country, and product purchased. We store these in our license database (Cloudflare D1) to issue your license key, send your receipt, and provide support.
- When you activate the Software, your license key, a device fingerprint, and software/OS version are sent to our license server. The fingerprint is a one-way hash and does not contain personal identifiers.
- License data is retained while your license is active and for up to 7 years after the last activity, in line with tax and accounting record-keeping requirements.
Third parties we use
- Cloudflare — website hosting, DNS, license server (D1 database, Workers), email routing for
@naturalemergence.comaddresses. - Paddle — Merchant of Record for checkout, tax, invoicing, refunds.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (license keys, receipts).
- Google Workspace / Gmail — our support inbox.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data for marketing purposes. We disclose data only to the providers above, strictly as needed to operate the service, or when required by law.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you may at any time:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (such as the email address on your license).
- Delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations (we will at minimum retain anonymized order records for tax purposes).
- Export your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object to processing or withdraw consent for optional features.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the email address on your license. We respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with specific data-protection laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, etc.), the same rights apply, and you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
International transfers
Because we are a China-based company serving a global audience, your data may be processed in any country where our service providers operate (primarily the United States, the European Union, and China). We rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses, certifications, or equivalent safeguards.
Children
Our software is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on our website and, where appropriate, by email to active license holders. The "Effective" date above reflects the latest version.
